Ministers from 149 members of the World Trade Organization are to gather Tuesday in Hong Kong for the Six Ministerial Conference.
It aims to slash^{1 subsidies2, tariffs3 and other barriers to trade so as to help reduce poverty and spur economic growth in developing countries.
In September, 2003, the WTO's fifth ministerial conference in Cancun, Mexico, collapsed4 as significant differences emerged between the rich and poor nations over agriculture and non- agricultural market access .
WTO members agreed to phase out agricultural subsidies by the end of 2006.}

它旨在大幅度削减补助金和关税，帮助降低贫穷的其它物品交换及刺激起展中国家的经济进步。
